The Problem

To counter this Trafman Solutions worked with Jaybro to obtain a fleet of effective safety barriers that could be stored at their yard and deployed on any projects where barrier separation between workers and motorists was necessary.

Additionally, the barriers are available to hire through their equipment hire business arm, providing an additional revenue stream when the barriers aren’t in use by their own staff.

Our Solution

Jaybro supplied dozens of Deltabloc concrete safety barriers fitted with anti-gawk screens and shadecloth. The Deltabloc crash barriers are rated to MASH TL-3 and approved for use by Austroads on roads up to 100km/hr. Additionally, the DB80 is approved by NSW RMS, QLD Main Roads, VicRoads and WA Main Roads.

Designed to reduce the risk of a head-on collision as a result of an out of control vehicle crossing over the median strip into oncoming traffic, the barriers have also been supplied with Absorb-M crash cushions. These units fit snugly onto the end of a run of concrete barriers, providing a non-redirective gating action that reduces the intensity of a crash event. Each water-filled Absorb-M element is designed to absorb kinetic energy and safely contain or control the penetration trajectory of impacting vehicles.

The Trafman team notes that the barriers will be used on various projects ranging from Major Projects to council road upgrades and development sites.
