Foam gap filler backing rod is a flexible open cell foam extrusion, ideal for commercial applications such as precast and formwork joints. Backing rod or caulking strips are ideal for supporting and filling gaps or cracks with caulks and sealants. Backer rod is easy to use and fills gaps up to 50 mm wide. Foam backing rod is an exceptionally strong and lightweight, and can be used as a foam rod expansion joint and space filler between vertical and horizontal joints, in masonry, brickwork, concrete panels, curtain walls and more. It is ideal for any building sealing and dust proofing applications, such as around skylights, windows, electrical boxes and air conditioning units. It ensures a tight seal to prevent dirt and water entry into the structure and it is compatible with most common building sealants, silicones, gap fillers and foams.
