DELTABLOC DB80 Road Barrier

CRASH TESTED TO MASH TL-3

System Overview

The Deltabloc DB80 is a free-standing precast concrete road barrier, suitable for permanent and temporary applications. A durable and high performing road barrier system that is fully crash tested to MASH TL-3.

This F-type concrete road barrier is remarkably light, flexible and rigid, as well as being RMS approved to minimise impacts from vehicles travelling up to 100km/hr in NSW & VIC, and 80km/hr in QLD.

Available in 2, 4 and 6 metre lengths, their unique design allows for fast truck-mounted crane installation.

 

The main advantages of the DB80 F-Shape system from Deltabloc over traditional portable concrete barriers are:

DELTABLOC  Barriers are crashworthy and have been tested to MASH 2009 and EN1317 testing procedures.

Function

The patented Deltabloc technology is based on the well-proven tension bar in combination with the unique coupling. The precast Concrete units are connected like a chain and provide specific flexibility.

Elastomer bearings between the single barriers ensure controlled damping of peak loads. This guarantees reliable breakthrough prevention for heavy vehicles and soft impact behaviour for small passenger cars.

DELTABLOC technology has been optimised in more than 130 full-scale crash tests, allowing DELTABLOC barriers to deliver the best impact severity results available.

System Design

TENSION BAR
The patented tension bar is incorporated within each DELTABLOC barrier. Tension bars are available in different strengths to accommodate different containment levels required.

COUPLING
The patented coupling is used to connect the tension bars within each barrier, enabling a continuous connection from the beginning to the end of the barrier deployment.
